Nice thread dig, and your case looks better, but remember that the guy not only had his motorcycle crash but an appendectomy as well. The Steelers were dumb to rush him back into the lineup. Seriously, he's more physically talented than Eli Manning or Phillip Rivers. The guy is going to be a very good quarterback in the league for a long time to come, but he is struggling right now.

 

His QB passer rating over his last 3 starts (going back to the SB) is 29.

The differnce isn't the motorcycle acident it is because he has no running game and the defense isn't giving him the same short field so far this year.

The most telling stat from last year is that he had the shortest average yardage to gain on 3rd down in the league. What this means is that he was able to use play action effectively on 3rd down most of the time making the defense respect the run and stay out of nickle packages.

The running game made him look very good last year not to mention they had one of the best average starting positions in the league last season.

Short field + good running game = easy living for Big Dumb Ben.
