sounds like the pats are gonna have an asterisk next to their first SB win. this team will no longer be mentioned with the 70's steelers, 80's niners and 90s cowboys as dynasties. it's a shame, because they probably didn't need to cheat like they have.

I do not like the Pats but they did not win all those rings by stealing signals. No way that made Kasay kick the ball out of bounds, McNabb get sick on the final drive or allow Viniteri to kick all those clutch field goals.

but it may have allowed them to be in a position where those things mattered.

I think this is the point that people are missing. the margin of victory in those games was razor thin...and it could be argued that if you change one or two plays here or there, the game turns out differently.

In SB 38, Brady was 13 of 20 for 163 yards in the fourth quarter alone. On third down, he was 4 of 5 for 47 yards and converted the first down on each completion. IF (and this is a big if) they were aware of coverage and blitz schemes, they would have an enormous advantage.

It doesn't matter though. The Lombardi trophy is not coming to Charlotte no matter what the results of the current investigation.

What is so funny about this stupid debate is that it is not illegal to use video. You just can't do it from the sidelines. You can do it from the endzones, the 1st row of seats or the booth and every team does. It is standard practice to video the sideline from the booth. That is the reason why every coordinator and head coach hides their mouth and the reason every team changes signal at halftime and uses phoney signals.

I know Grid is just being a douche but anyone who thinks the Patriots gained any advantage, or were the only team taping, is football ignorant and probably never played a down in their life.

Before you call somebody a douche, you might want to check into the rules. A rule also states that all video shooting locations for coaching purposes "must be enclosed on all sides with a roof overhead." That seems to rule out your endzones & the 1st row of seats. You're trying to defend your team. Fine. But you look pretty stupid when the only jury that counts has ruled that their behavior was outside the rules. The penalties have been assessed. Time for your denial to end.

PS: How about giving us your interpretation of this excerpt from the league's Constitution & Bylaws

Oh and the defeat in the Superbowl doesn't excuse the behavior. In other words it's 18*-1
