Panthers vs Jets Running Commentary

The Jets won't be able to score, but neither will we. I think we manage a TD early and then get shut down the rest of the way, settling for field goals. That's all the Jets get though, and we win an ugly one by a score of 13-6

 

The NFL is all about matchups and I'm concerned about the matchups. Fields sucks, but he sucks the most under pressure, which the Panthers still don't generate. The run defense is worse on the road for whatever reason, and the Jets have a dangerous running game. The offense may have to play more keep up than we anticipate. I do think the run game will stay strong and having Coker back should be a plus.



My random ass key to the game is a turnover forced by a Panthers linebacker or safety. The Jets will try to counter the absence of Garrett Wilson by feeding Mason Taylor, so there will be takeaway opportunities for the middle field defenders. Because I think New York has a home field advantage/due for a win advantage, the Panthers really need to win the turnover battle while avoiding dumb penalties. I don't think you can just show up, fuck around, and expect the Jets to roll over. They've played good teams to the wire.

 

I also get the feeling this could be a pull out all the stops game for fields which in his case means QB runs. They're going to try and bull ratio us.

If the Jets control the clock and Bryce has a couple of his Madden glitch turnovers, the Jets win.


I can start buying into Canales if the team takes care of business today, since it's such an obvious let down spot.

 

Canales appears to be such a laid back positive feedback type that I'm not sure he alone will get the team mentally ready for this game. I think if there are any team leaders on this squad it will up to them the get the team into a warrior outlook against the J-E-T-S. Are there any Thomas Davis vocal guys on this team?

 

Schlareth is being completely obnoxious about Rico needing to have every carry. I had to mute the fucking TV.

 

The Panthers don't appear to be sticking with what won them the last two games. They are not playing from behind yet Bryce has 13 pass attempts so far before the half. They can run on these guys.
