So the draft is a bit more clear now as we will be picking 1st or a very small percentage say 2nd.
Either way, we have our QB1. Will he start or sit a year behind a veteran QB still not on the roster?

Still have 5 picks left in the draft. Draft strengths are TE, CB, and RB, so no need to use FA money there?

FA money, we have about $25 million to spend as of now and a $100 million shopping list.
Bozeman, Foreman, Burns coming soon, maybe a DT from Denver or AZ to help new defense scheme.
Can't do it all for sure, so Bozeman gets top billing for me, after that.......

Draft would be for me at this point.

Rd 1. QB Stroud/Young. Our guys think someone was worth it. Young has the brain, Stroud has the build, we will see.

Round 2. Front 7 help. Foskey to pair with Burns? Mazi Smith for big DT? Some good DE's at top of 2nd should be there depending on the front we plan on utilizing.

Round 3. TE LaPorta. Huge year for TE's in the draft, can get a really good one in the 3rd. Iowa TE's seem to do quite well in NFL.

Round 4. RB Tyjae Spears. This kid is ultra quick and would pair well with Bozeman strength if we resign him.

After that, it is backfilling other positions for depth

You don't sit a #1 overall QB, so I expect them to re-sign Darnold as this regime's version of Derek Anderson. There will be some "it's a competition for week one starter" bullshit which you can safely ignore.

With our FA money, which is very little, Bozeman has to be one guy we prioritize.

Panther Oline seemed to gel with him in the middle. Still got a few guys like Elfien to let go, but not tons of cash available for big splashes in FA market

If Bozeman wants to break he bank, he should do it elsewhere. RB's are just not the commodity they once were, it is a passing league now.

Need to pick up a vet WR now that Moore is gone

Next year, we make bigger splash in FA

I agree, but we still have to sign some vet. Draft pick and Eason is not much to go into war with, at least not the first half of the season. If we draft this high, I don't see Darnold coming back. No telling who we might get. Phillip Rivers? haha

Why do Panther fans perceive a robust market for Sam Darnold? What have you guys been watching over the last two years?

I had read somewhere that the Panthers had spoken to Darnold, but that Reich was not that impressed. Now, you can take that for what it is worth. Maybe Darnold is not what they want as far as a VET type that can bring someone along. Darnold is still very young and does not have a lot of winning years to relay to another young QB, his fault or not.

Here is what the Bears did a few years ago to get Trubiskey. Love to see what we could get from Houston.

The Bears traded the Nos. 3, 67 and 111 picks, as well as a 2018 third-round pick, to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for the second overall pick.

Swapping picks with Houston is theoretically possible but practically absurd. If the Texans had a concrete QB1 they would have that pick by now.

Josh McCown is supposed to be the wise old sage. You don't need to double down on wise old sages. You can focus on having a backup who can actually play in a pinch.

With Chicago at the number 1 pick, they had their choice. No longer the case, and that is where the intrigue starts
