A RB who takes a wildcat hike can throw the ball. Can he also run and slide?

So a RB who slides after a wildcat hike can incur a penalty if the defensive player hits him?

Yes, and it doesn't matter if it's Wildcat or not. If a runner gives himself up, which is what sliding is, then the ball is dead there and the play is over. If a defensive player hits them, that's 15.

Ah ok, I didn't know that. I thought it was specific to snowflake QBs.

Also, Rule 7 Section 38 states that you should never throw the ball to Tom Brady.

If any run can slide, wouldn't sliding be the advantageous move at the end of nearly every open run? It lowers the concussion rate. It adds possibility of 15 yards penalty, if you time it correctly. Sort of like shorting a deep ball to get a PI call.

    But you lose the YAC.

Sliding generally costs you a few yards. Its like running out of bounds before you take a hit.
