Wow LOL, ok. I guess my perspective stems from trying to preserve some sort of balance in NCAA football, but in a truly free market your point is very valid. If you let them pay whatever they want, it won't be long before College football as we've known it in our lifetimes is dead.

NIL money is strictly from endorsements, not the schools. Same as NFL players have no cap on the amount of commercials they can do.

It's hilarious that Saban is raging about this though, guy had enough trouble coaching pros in Miami now his little kingdom of bullshit and snack cakes will fall down.

How much are 16 year old 5 stars recruits going to get paid?

Once everyone is a millionaire, I'm not sure what role the school, either high school or college, is going to play in the overall structure.

I'm aware of that. I am not worried about schools paying athletes, I'm worried about a guy with billions in the bank tossing $50 million per year at high school kids to make sure they play for his alma mater.

But why? So we can watch the same teams in the playoff forever? NIL at least gives hope that new blood can reach the top. It's not like the traditional CFB powers don't get generous donations from the same boosters. Oklahoma St. has pushed the upper limits of if you build it they will come under the old rules.

Licensing the logos I guess. The way these sports programs hold power in the big schools they're basically pro teams with a university department for appearances.

The old powers have shown they'll ruthlessly destory the upstarts before... and now NIL is the MOST EVIL THING EVER

Leave it to a religious organization in the South in the 80's to get caught cheating. I'm sure some televangelist was praying for them.

How long before this kid is a millionaire?

BTW, the parents have legal rights to this kid's money, unless he emancipates himself. I think you have to wait until 16 to do that in most places.
