Many had Ekwonu ranked first of the 3 in the OL group and our offensive line has improved since last season (before the draft) which we all know was badly needed. Also got a talented linebacker in the draft. Corral I think will do well if given time and good coaching. He has all the tools.

Everyone has their own opinion of course but I don't think the draft was anywhere near as bad as you're saying.

The talented linebacker is a big-time boom or bust prospect. He won't be contributing meaningful snaps until 2024. If he hits though, he has the physical tools to be a perennial all-pro.

My guess on wins is based on CMC playing.

3-0 last year with him, the world fell apart without him. If he plays the season and our oline solidifies, then 9 wins is achievable

Take away Stephon Gilmore, Haason Reddick, Morgan Fox, DaQuan Jones, Cam Newton then add one rookie offensive lineman and some backup/special team players. We haven't improved as a team. Darnold is still the starting QB and we have the same LT problem.

Gross didn't even start at LT his rookie year. If they start Icky at LT, it's a mistake.

You've conveniently left out the vastly improved offensive line we improved in free agency.

Fox also kept Foster in over Williams, Morgan had to get his brain bruised again for Beason to move to the middle, he signed Vinny Testaverde off the couch rather get Moore in. I think it's safe to say Fox hated rookies, and plenty of good LTs start as rookies. Hell didn't Wharton start at LT as a third round rookie?

Gross didn't start at LT because we had Todd Steussie. In 2004, we moved Gross to the left side and let Steussie walk. If we had a former pro bowl LT who was still playing at a decent level on the roster and a big hole at RT, then I suppose that's where Ickey would go. But we don't, so if he's the best LT on the roster, I expect him to start.
