The only sliver of hope I'm holding onto is Matt Rhule admitting play calling is a problem, they will commit to run the ball regardless of who is at RB, and the Offense needs to help the Defense out.

Sliver of hope for what? for the teams playoffs chances and Rhules continued employment that's good; For Darnold's reclamation project this is just short of admitting defeat.

I have to question the wisdom of wanting Sam to carry the offense this early in the project. How is that supposed to build his confidence?

Open it up against the bad teams, like the jets and texans training wheels for the good teams, like the cowboys and saints. I can see the logic behind it.

Maybe we're also seeing some blowback from the I didn't watch film of my new QB plan- Having a couple dozen all 22s against real NFL level competition is something any coach would kill for in a rookie, or a developmental backup and our coach ignored it?

Maybe college coaches are oblivious of that.

Considering the person who normally carries it can't stay on the field healthy and making Sam a backup is not doing him a solid.

You can always just watch the game highlights on Utube about 30 minutes after the game is over. Kind of like a bitter pill to swallow but better than a 3 hour IV of shit

Yeah the sliver of hope is the message is nobody is safe. I like the urgency in Rhule's tone. Darnold's got to make throws, Anderson's got to catch them, Brady has to make sure his offense knows when to be on the field. If we lose to the Giants this week, Brady may lose play calling responsibilities and Darnold might get fucking benched. Rhule has a guy at QB that's his guy so I think everyone is on a short leash.
