    Well, hello there!

With the draft two days away, I thought it would be appropriate to get into the spirit and do my own NFL mock. I will be breaking this up into two parts - the first 32 picks, and tomorrow I'll do 33-100. No trades in this mock. I'm just leaning towards need, which is the league wide trend.

Now, for anyone who's unaware, PFF has a terrific mock draft simulator.

I've been playing around with it for a month, usually alone in the corner of social events. It's fun, and a great way to educate yourself about this year's prospects.

Here's a screencap of my 1-32. I'll follow up with witty commentary underneath.

    Witty Commentary:

    - No surprises in the top 6. Jones appears to be the logical choice at #3, as Shanahan is a narcissist who likes his quarterbacks to follow script (and who blew a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl).

    - Speaking of 28-3, Pitts will be a terror in Arthur Smith's offense. It's the perfect meld of need and fit. They'll do a great job of throwing teams off balance with 12 personnel, as Pitts and Hayden Hurst can line up at any position. This should help keep them in most games before folding late in regulation.

    - After Detroit drafts their first round bust, it's Carolina taking Justin Fields. David Tepper satisfies his lust for a FRANCHISE QB, while recently-minted savior Sam Darnold joins the pantheon of wasted second round draft capital. Trading back with New England is also a distinct possibility, but I do believe Belichick is fine riding Cam for another year, so he takes another swing at the WR lottery with speedster Rashod Bateman.

    - Denver gets Lance, who can develop for a month while Drew Lock buries their season early. That's all I have to say here, really. It's Denver and they're hard capped at 9 wins until Patrick Mahomes retires.

    - Parsons slides all the way to Las Vegas, who give less than shit about perceived character flaws. This would be amazing value at #17. I also love Arizona getting Barmore, who many have compared to Chris Jones. Put that guy on the field with Chandler Jones and JJ Watt? Holy fuck. Honestly, I envy any team picking from 10 to the early 20's. There's just fantastic value here.

    - Ronshington gets his TD/Shaq in JOK. They could easily go corner, too. Baltimore replaces Orlando Brown with Tevin Jenkins.

    - I love Trask going to Tampa. Perfect fit for his game, and he can work on his footwork and mobility for a season or two while learning from the goat. Bruce Arians has the luck of Satan.

I'll circle back tomorrow with 33-100. I would go further, but I'm not an incel and anything after 100 is just a lucky guess. This is why GMs and coaches wear suits on Thursday, and stained short sleeve polo shirts on Saturday.

Like my shit if you like my shit. I hope everyone has a fantastic Tuesday!

I almost always like your posts but I do not like a few of your picks asshole. If the damn falcons get Pitts and the panthers waste #8 on fields I will be so pissed off that I probably won’t even watch the rest of the fucking draft. Also I think Trask would be the perfect pick for TB and by 2023 carolina will hate how well he does there.
Good insite on the other shit though, but you’d better be wrong on picks 4 and 8. )

I'm a BPA absolutist, so this mock would look radically different if I applied by BPA philosophy. For instance, if I were San Francisco, I'd take Pitts. That offense would be indefensible with him and Kittle. They could play literally any formation with the same personnel grouping. And I agree that Fields isn't the 8th best player in this draft, but that's not how teams think about the position anymore.

You can’t have everything, and I would hate to lose out on a potential franchise QB (in your prognostication), but knowing a probable starting Tackle will go just after our pick sticks in my craw.

I appreciate your post. I respect the time you, and others, put in. And I love the “Detroit’s first round bust”.

Slater will be the pick unless Pitts or Sewell somehow fall to 8.

Fuck it, sometimes this place needs a break from all the high minded intellectual content that is constantly flooding in on all sides. )

I like Pitts so much that I wish we could trade CMC in some pipe dream Madden trade to get him but he probably will be gone by 4. So I took Slater too.
By our pick in the 2nd all the day one LTs will be gone.

Did you let PFF do the picks for anyone? I like the simulator at PFN better—the trades are more realistic.
