Sam does seem to look and play bigger than 6'3'' and 125 lbs.

I don't remember Cam lowering his shoulder in the open field and bowl over a linebacker nearly as big as him very often. Don't build some strawman out of that statement like I'm saying Cam wasn't physical or scared of contact or anything.

I'm just saying Sam has impressed me a little on his physical play overall. But I had set the bar low for him, so we'll see.

Cam in the open field tended to be faster and more agile than linebackers.

We'll see improvement in him with that purely because he won't be running for his life every play with us. I feel a lot of his poor decisions in NY were down to having to do something ridiculously quick before he was hit. Wasn't he the most hit QB last season and possibly other seasons too?

With us I think he'll have the confidence that he can make that better decision instead of having to really rush before he gets smashed. It's not happening overnight but I do think he's going to be an effective QB for us.

When you are perpetually losing every game and running for your life, as a qb, it's easy to make bad decisions/take unnecessary risks in desperation to win a game as the season wears on.

You ever have like a really old memory triggered? Like you smell the same brand of sunscreen you wore your first trip to disneyworld and all those memories that were pretty vague cause you were like 8 suddenly come back super vivid you see the glint of the sun off the buildings here the noises remember that talking skull in pirates. I had a mild form of that except it's 2007 me and I'm posting on TBR about all the good things that can happen with David Carr.

Not saying that Darnold can't become what the jets hoped he would be (Stafford level?) but let's not talk ourselves into marrying the stripper. Again.

I think he will get something like 220-240 yards a game, maybe 65% completions, 20 TDs, 10 INTs, and most important, 4-5 game winning drives. That's hardly franchise QB material, but it's better than what he's done in New York. If he does react positively to the coaching, in his second year he will start looking like a franchise guy, or at least someone with potential for that.

I just wonder how bad Darnold's PTSD is.

Not talking myself into anything. I actually like Darnold and think he can be good.

You'll see in other threads on here I wasn't at all against the move. If it doesn't work out they'll move off him just like they have with Teddy.
