    Lucky them.

I hate to say it, but I would make Cam a situational red zone guy at this point. His arm is just shot. It hurts me to even watch him throw

Cam is a big reason why the Patriots went 7-9 instead of 3-13. He completed a very high percentage of his passes with the worst supporting cast in the NFL. He's not done at all. I still expect New England to draft a quarterback whom they'll prep as their 2022 starter, but I also expect Cam to play his way into a big contract next offseason.

New England has never had a great supporting cast. They take nobodys and make them into something, outcasts and bring them back to life. Normally that was through their system and Brady.

Not sure Cam was dealt the horrible hand as much as the normal hand in NE. I wish him well, but recapturing arm strength, foot quickness, etc is an elusive thing as you age.

Career special teamer/track athlete Damiere Byrd was their #1 option. There are bad supporting casts and then there are no supporting casts. Cam literally had nobody to throw to. New England will beef up their WR corps and Newton will be a top 15 quarterback in 2021.

The way I look at it is that I'm right and everyone else is wrong.

His deal is going to be a lot like last year's, as in heavily incentive-laden. But he can make something like $14-17 million easily enough. If he's a starting caliber QB still, that's not a bad price at all.

I wish him all the luck in the world. Too bad Buffalo didn't grab him when they had a chance.
