I'm confused about who our Linebackers are going to be. I think it's safe to say that Shaq Thompson will be our SAM, but after that it's unclear. Who else do you want covering the Tight End?

I've heard Tahir Whitehead is at the top of the depth chart for MLB. Is that true? Wasn't he pretty crappy in Oakland? Is he a MLB only because they ran a 3-4? What happened with Jermaine Carter?

Who's the WILL? Will Christian Miller or Marquise Haynes be able to make a transition to that position? Please don't suggest Andre Smith, unless you went to Carolina and believe that every player from that fine institution of higher cheating is worthy of a starting role in the NFL. If you did, just say so and we can ignore your thinking where he's concerned.

I've followed the Panthers since day one, and I can't ever remember a season where our starting LBs were in such a sorry state of flux. Someone talk me off the ledge here, please?

It's going to be the mullet head with the porn stache that's going to come off special teams to save the defense.

Shaq SLB, Whitehead looks like the Mike (just check where he went to college) but probably coming off the field for nickel, the WLB may not even be on the roster yet or it's that sister fucker dig-it mentioned.

even with improvements up front it's probably going to be a rough year in run defense.

Whitehead had no sacks or forced fumbles last year, and was a complete liability in pass coverage. He allowed a passer rating of 140.6 when targeted, giving up completions on over 78% of attempts.

After eight years of Luke's coverage in the middle, it's going to be ugly for Panther fans.

In a previous thread zona’s Reddick was mentioned. Yesterday there was an negative article on his worth there. His cap hit this year is about 4.3 mil. Would he be worth trading for? . .. could use depth at the very least if he was cheap enough

Yeah the panthers have mostly had a good LB corps, even if nothing else.

I'd go ahead and jump, it's prolly not going to be a good year for us. On the plus side, maybe the SJ shit won't be so bothersome while we're doing other things on Sundays this fall.

Not sure if Reddick is the answer here. He was an ILB in Zona but moved to OLB and kind of failed at it. Granted, he was in a 3-4 so maybe it's a scheme thing.

The important question where he's concerned is, did he play at Baylor or Temple?

Not that it's something to rely on but Hurney could get the occasional Jeremy Bridges or Chris Harris' to shore up parts of the team on short notice. With a shortened training camp and no preseason that's a harder task.
