Remember when players actually wore shoulder pads?

I miss the days when players were covered with protective padding. Hand pads, forearm pads, elbow pads, and yes full size shoulder pads. I miss seeing players with large shoulder pads, and today most players don't wear thigh pads, if the do their so small they are non-effective. Players today wear these small coverings that fit over the shoulders, basically no real protection at all. Yeah I get it, it gives the player more mobility, and less weight to throw around. The jerseys are so tight, and sleeveless that the there isn't much jersey to wear.
Go back in time and look at running backs like Chiefs, Christian Okoea, or Browns Tommy Vardell, and Kevin Mack. They wore massive shoulder pads, and so did most linebackers, and defensive players. Man I miss watching football from those days.

I think my shoulder pads in HS (back in the late 70's/early 80's), were bigger as a safety/DB, than some pro linemen today.

I can actually re-live those good old days from the 70's & 80's. I have a massive NFL game collection on dvd. close to 900 games, ranging from 1973 with SUPER BOWL 8 til most recent years of almost all teams. Many divisional match ups, and playoffs as well.

I have the entire 1996 season (except the game tooka ripped his knee up - the titans i think) on VHS.

I no longer have a vhs player that works due to a lightening happening. But I know the quality isn't all that great, plus I recorded them lower quality to fit 3 games per tape.

Yeah, the quality back then was unreasonable compared to today.
