Gettleman fired

It sounds like it was even worse than we thought. Gettleman was just a bully who was needlessly harsh to players and employees.

 

He's a rich northeast yankee down in the south. Whataya expect?

As long as it's just for the 2017 regular season, and as long as he's never allowed to head another draft or free agency, it's not catastrophic. It sounds like some sort of hybrid role between interim GM, and a consultant in the same vein of Ernie Acorsi - but it's still a completely absurd, ridiculous move by Richardson. Marty Hurney damn near broke this franchise. There's absolutely, positively no good reason to be bringing him back in any role, let alone the god damn fucking GENERAL MANAGER AGAIN. Just fucking unbelievable. This crossed my mind as a joke yesterday when the news broke about Gettleman, but I never imagined it would actually happen.


And don't kid yourself, there's a very solid chance that this becomes permanent. If the team wins, there's going to be outside pressure to keep Hurney, and he'll be right back to fucking up offseasons for years to come. Just an unbelievable, Bozo The Clown move by our owner.

 

Just to be clear, because I know some idiot will bring it up, the core of the 2015 team didn't come from one or two Hurney drafts. It came from one or two good players over several bad drafts. He also blew high or mid round picks on Sione Fua, Amini Silatolu, Frank Alexander, Joe Adams, Brandon Hogan, Armanti Edwards, Eric Noorwood, Everett Brown, Sherrod Martin, Corey Irvin, Dwayne Jarrett, Rashad Butler, Atiyyah Ellison, Stefan LaFors, Nate Salley, Mike Seidman, and Bruce Nelson. He ruined our salary cap in 2011 just to retain a 2-14 team. He has no business ever again running an NFL franchise, even on an interim basis.

 

I'm also not interested in debating whether or not Hurney is better or worse than Gettleman. They both suck. Neither guy should be running the Panthers. This is too attractive of a job. JR, by all accounts, is a hands off owner and there's some good players on this team. We can do so much better than this. Fucking ludicrous.

 

Person is saying that the negroes might try to force a minority interview first. "Minority" for the Panthers should just mean "qualified candidate" since we never fucking hire one.
