So because it's fun, and furthermore potentially educational, I'm going to ask the posters here to mock up to 8. Not the entire first round, just to 8, and then give their TOP THREE CHOICES and WHY.

Its important that we mock up to 8, or its easy to just say our top three are the obvious.

Now that the combine is out of the way, and the first few days of FA are done, a lot's changed. It's educational to me to learn from the posters here. Because the top choices and WHY can be important, and I find myself wondering and speculating like a madman. Obviously trades will change shit, yadda ya...

So here's mine, and forgive me if I sound ignornant:

    1. Cleveland - Mitchell Trubisky QB (I just think they're dumb enough to)

    2. San Fran - Myles Garrett DE (or some obscene trade down)

    3. Chicago - Solomon Thomas DE

4, Jax - Leonard Fournette RB

    5. Tennessee - Jamal Adams S

    6. Jets - Deshaun Watson QB (sorry, I dont buy them waiting. Coach second year near hot seat, buys time)

    7. Chargers - Marshon Lattimore CB

    8. Panthers - So I'd love to trade down, but if I had to pick - 1. I'm pained not to jump on Hooker, but we have the need for Adams more than Hooker, and I Don't think Hooker could be a great SS.

Jon Allen DL (assuming staff ok with shouders, and stop his fall). We could lose Star, or maybe even KK. We have no youth at DE that's blue chip, and he can swing outside. It just makes us so stout in the middle, it's almost too much, and unnecessary, but if he falls into our laps I feel it would be regrettable to let him slide to New Orleans.

OJ Howard TE I know, kill me now and shit talk me under the table - at 8, getting someone who won't see that many snaps might be stupid. But he'll be like an extra lineman, he'll give us the personnel we've wanted to run, and he'll do nothing but help Cam Newton. He's physically freakishly big and pretty fast with good hands. He's just learning. Freakishly high ceiling, and will help the passing and run game. Again...just not a huge huge need right NOW.

Corey Davis WR - I think it's a huge need. CJ isn't going to step up and suddenly fill Ginn's shoes and be this big playmaker no one knew about, nor is fucking BYRD, who couldn't crack the roster. We need a FAST legit receiving target, someone who can keep defenses honest. Funchess and KB risk not being on this roster for long. It should make them very nervous that the staff are beginning to admit its mistakes with the Ealy trade...

    40. So I think before the combine, Melifonwu and others like him might've been waiting on us, but I suspect he'll go late first or early second now...Dion Dawkins may be there, and probably will - and we have to think about how Gettleman drafts guys to take the place of others who may walk soon (both our guards).

Bucky Hodges TE - Depending on first round, obviously. Cam would love him. Huge, tall, former QB, knows routes, concepts, defenses, will just be a QB's dream.

Akhello Witherspoon CB- raw as fuck, but he fits what we do. He's tall, fast and football quick, but needs to learn and get better vs. the run, but if we think we can coach him, he's a high ceiling guy and I like him.

Zach Banner OT - Just like him way above Garcia, tho he's strictly a RT. Can be coached up to pass protect a little better, but I feel he'd be a great fit for what we do and would instantly upgrade us there.

I don't think Cleveland will take a QB at 1. Garrett is just too good to pass on. They have the ammo to move up from #12 and still get a QB, which is our best trade back opportunity I think. Their third rounder would do it if I recall the points system correctly (too lazy to check).

I think my "realistic" top 3 for the first round pick are Jonathan Allen, Corey Davis and Marlon Humphrey in that order.

It's hard to give a top 3 for the second round pick because it's difficult to project who might be available. But since it's just an academic exercise, I would say Gareon Conley, Malik McDowell and Evan Engram would be my top 3 with a chance to actually fall to that pick.

I wouldn't take Banner unless you are projecting him to guard.

    I'd take Watson at 40.

Some cuck team will take him higher than 40

I'm not trying to push Cam out the door, but we can't have a repeat of 2016. That was some alarmingly bad passing at times.

Yeah. That's a remaining need for sure. Charles JohnsonWR has some deep ball ability but he's not done much since 2014.

I know you're speaking of a WR, but man, I really like the thoughts of how many different ways McCaffrey could hurt defenses.

I just don't have much faith that Shula can tap into his full potential
