Per our Pro Day Results page, Tony Pauline reported that the Panthers have scary levels of interest in Su'a Cravens. I initially was confused, given that Carolina drafted a similar-type player last year in Shaq Thompson. However, Thompson is more linebacker, while Cravens is more of a safety, so it would make sense for the team to have two interchangeable linebacker-safety hybrids.

The Panthers added Paul Soliai this offseason, but they could still use some depth at defensive tackle with some of their starters heading into free agency soon. Besides, Sheldon Day is just too good to pass up here.

The Panthers re-signed Charles Johnson and have Kony Ealy as a starter across from him, but Johnson was brought back on a 1-year deal. He could be gone after this season, so I wouldn't blame Carolina for drafting a defensive end in the first few rounds.

Needs Analysis: Michael Oher is nothing more than a stop-gap at left tackle, and the Panthers simply have to find their left tackle of the future at some point in the near future. The secondary performed admirably this season, but adding a high-impact safety to eventually take over for Roman Harper is a distinct possibility. Ron Rivera understands the importance of a dominant defensive end and the Panthers will be keeping an eye out for that spot.

It sounds like it's a deep draft for pass rushers so I wouldn't make it our first day pick. Our WRs are still average at best, Fucking Corey Brown and Brentson Buckner are GARBAGE. Is this draft as shallow in decent WRs as this novice thinks it is? Last I saw we were 20 mil under the cap, strike the what 13 mil we owe Josh on his franchise tag what's next
