If Fox had not gone for two and failed twice, New England would not have gone for two and succeeded, which would have made Vinatieri's field goal a tying one rather than a winning one. The defense also had several opportunities to stop the Patriots. The kick out of bounds hurt but fans put far too much of the blame on Kasay.
