You would hope that he would learn not to alienate his players like he did in Philly. He isn't racist, he's just you garden variety asshole who's schtick works only in college

I think some people want him to win because they wanted him here and would rather look like they are smart. No problem.

If he can succeed it will be impressive, because he has a hill to climb in that division. It's a little tougher than the NFC East at this time.

At this point I think you have to be happy we got who we got, a dull non innovative defensive minded run of the mill coordinator.

I believed in him and still do, certainly, but that isn't the point. The point is that the criticisms of Coach Micool in others are not grounded in fact. They're Skip Bayless-type supposition that is contradicted by the facts.

Coughlin Fires Back At Tiki - tribunedigital-thecourant

Back when Coughlin was a hardass, Giants players complained about him but they won. Winning is what matters. When Chip Kelly was winning, everyone thought he was a great coach. When Chip Kelly had a losing season and got fired, people like you started pretending that his "schtick works only in college." That's because most people are emotional rather than rational and therefore their opinions completely change as the circumstances do.

Chip is 26-21 as a pro coach. He ain't exactly Lombardi. You gotta get along with a player you can't hold a scholarship over. Losing total control may actually be a good thing for him

No, you absolutely do not have to "get along with a player you can't hold a scholarship over." I just gave you numerous links showing that Tom Coughlin was much more of a hardass and he has been enormously successful.

You are not alone. Which, I don't care really if someone likes or dislikes Chip Kelly. I'll say that after watching his act in Philly, at this point in time I am happy he is trying to revolutionize the NFL somewhere else (not Carolina). He is free to change my mind, we'll see how it goes.

But Coughlin evolved and let up on the hard ass ways as has been mentioned by his players. Michael Strahan in particular. Do you think a hard ass coach would have would have all but justified Beckhams behavior a few weeks back? Yes he needed him but had this been back in his Jaguar days he would have yanked him from the field and benched him.
Kelly's a good coach but I still think he is better suited to the college game.
