This is how sad it is to be a 49ers fan right now - you have to troll undefeated teams about how imperfect they are. It's like the fat guy who says Kate Upton's nose is slightly disproportionate to her face.

I have been saying for a few years now that the 49ers should utilize CK7 in a similar fashion as Carolina; Power, Dart, Iso. I have never been a fan of the Zone Read on Sundays.

 

I think though Cam has his usual passing faults, he's been shit tons better'n than Kaep this year, overall, though their passing stats are similar.

Coming from behind/having to throw really ain't that big of a problem so far. It's not just about winning with passing stats. It's about making first downs with it keeping drives alive and ultimately scoring- or getting you to a place to score. For example, Cam's run for 21 first downs this year (#1 in NFL) on 54 atts, for a 38% fist down running rate - (similarly, 39% first down rate per pass attempt). Kaep has run for 13 first downs (3rd in NFL- one more game) on 45 atts, for 28.9% first down running rate (similarly, 29% first down rate per pass attempt).

So though the comps %, QBR, etc. are very similar between the two QBs, Cams first down rates running and passing are roughly 28% better than Kaep's. Unless somehow I'm reading and interpolating/calculating those numbers wrong, that's huge.

Perhaps the panthers are using Cam better'n Kaep. While the zone read ain't my thing on Sundays, using it as a gimmick/balance is more fun than a staple. Yet we're winning with it to a point, so I'm content with that.

I'm sorry, but just don't give a shit about the 9'ers and never have. They're in one of my least liked states, representing one of my least favorite cities, and drawing my ire because they were in the same division with my first beloved Rams, and then my Panthers. So any comparison falls short with my emotions.

 

Is Anquan suiting up tonight for the Panthers?
