Hey a guy made a post on a FF message board, in a Panthers thread which if true is interesting and relevant to the funeral hubub:

I think overall, throughout the years, the Panthers organization has been pretty loyal and supportive of its players. I'm not sure I get the double standard that rears its head when the organization stands by players who are often past their prime and are no longer playing a high level and then when let go get all this criticism for not being loyal or not doing the right thing. I think the team has been loyal to its players - for the most part - to a fault and to the team's developmental detriment - overall throughout the years anyway. I think it was B & B who posted that we wanted them to cease with the blind loyalty at some point and begin making sound business moves.

I don't know. It seems a lot of folks want it both ways when it suits their emotional dispositions. My two cents...

I said it's hard for an owner or CEO of any company to show up to the funerals of employees loved ones unless he starts playing favorites. Athletes take things more personal because they're generally more narcissistic than Joe Public. Even a very likeable one like DeAngelo has spent his entire life having his dick sucked by everyone around him, so when that stops it's probably hard to accept.

He should have enough money in the bank so that the
real world will never slap him in the face as long as he lives.

I agree. If I referenced your words out of context, I didn't mean to.

A lot of people are very uncomfortable about death and funerals as well. Would have been nice since it was a parent. Honestly, had it been in Charlotte, I would have gone simply because of having a "connection" with her being a big part of the breast cancer campaign. But none of my bosses or coworkers came to my step father's service and I was ok with it - they did send card and plant when he was in his final week and certainly gave me all the time off I needed including literally walking out of work twice. When a coworker died, everyone who was able did go, but I know several were very uncomfortable.

The way Richardson portrays himself and how he behaves have always been very different. I don't have a problem with an owner not going out of his way to be involved with players' lives, although it is kind of shitty to use Williams' mother for publicity during the NFL's breast cancer month and then ignore her passing.
