Watching Godfrey cover slot receivers is one of the worst things I've had to witness as a football fan. We would have been better off leaving a third linebacker in the game.

A tie is uncharted waters and I certainly understand the frustration. As a fan you expect to feel one of two ways after a game. I choose to view it as a glorified preseason game. We came in 3-2 and left 3-2. Even had we won, it's still one of the least important games left on the schedule. I'm thankful Nugent choked and we picked up a half-game on Atlanta.

While I understand your frustration, especially today without A.J. Green or any other deep threat for Cincinnati, remember that Melvin White was benched in part because of how the corners were getting burned early in the year when playing up. Norman sucks at press and clearly isn't comfortable with it. Maybe they miss Munnerlyn more than I thought they would. But then you get to the real problem with why McDermott isn't comfortable playing press in 2014. Press coverage means Harper and/or DeCoud having direct coverage responsibilities, which is a fucking disaster. The times Carolina did bring pressure today, I could see Bengals receivers running wide ass open. Sometimes Dalton hit them, but I promise you there were a lot more yards and points left on the field thanks to his shitty day. Gettleman saddled his defensive coordinator with an impossible task because while you can patch at cornerback, having two of the worst safeties from 2013 playing beside each other in 2014 is a guaranteed clusterfuck. Now add in the lack of a pass rush and I don't really know what you expect McDermott to do.

Don't do this. Admitting you were wrong about him was a great step. You're backsliding like an alky at a kegger.

I have to disagree with you there. Cam was Superman today. He single-handedly prevented this team from losing despite receivers dropping passes and being under almost constant pressure. I have never seen him play better than he did today and I don't know that I even believed he could do this. He got a lot on the ground through sheer will because he flat out is not explosive at his current health, but this season he has been phenomenal as a passer despite driving me crazy by still throwing off of his back foot. My only complaint is that he tossed the Olsen TD ball to the dudes next to me instead of rewarding my greatness.

Speaking of which, could you hear anyone making noise while the Bengals had the ball? I have no voice left and annoyed the shit out of the Cincinnati fans in my section, but one person can't do a whole lot no matter how loud they are.

Cincy's PA guy is pretty good but that fanbase is tough to get energized. They got loud some, but they're so beaten down that they get discouraged easily. Plus you know it's a rough city when you see 20+ guys holding up "I'm homeless" signs on the walk to the stadium. No joke, it had to be at least twenty different ones.

The Bengals cheerleaders have some slutty outfits and dance routines. It's so silly that the Panthers try to be "classy" when the one and only purpose for cheerleaders to be there at all is to get men fired up. Put on some silver hot pants, gyrate, and bend over.

Definitely. That happened right in front of me and my immediate reaction was one of horror because I thought Olsen had suffered a major injury.

That was my reaction as well. There clearly wasn't enough time left to do anything even if the defense could force a punt, and we had no reason to believe that they would force a punt. So the absolute best case scenario by kicking the FG is to tie, but with a pretty high likelihood of losing. Rivera has been playing it safe ever since his contract extension.

Trying to maliciously break peoples ankles with video and pictures for evidence hmmmm i wonder if this even gets mentioned on the sports talks tomorrow i doubt it . On the Cam video if he kicks Burfict in the face as he was about to do we would never heard the end of it .

It sounded like an amazing atmosphere. I was wrong about them being apathetic, that looked like a game in Seattle.

Definitely true. Also, as much as I hate saying this, Thomas Davis is not playing well this season. Hell, I can't think of a defender who is playing as well as they did last season, but TD struggling has been particularly hard to watch. I think we don't want to say anything because we all respect the hell out of him, but at 31 he is not a young man and some decline is to be expected.

Lotulelei had some nice stops today, yet he's been disappointing most of the season. Short has been more active but is also less disciplined. CJ is playing on one leg and whatever early success we got out of Addison has completely disappeared.
