    Probably my favorite post...in like...ever.

NO FUCKING Cap room here. Unless Gettleman can shit more cap room this is all he can do. And BTW: he hit a fucking home run with this same shit last yr. DeCoud was a pro bowler like 2 yrs back and comes cheap. Gettleman is a sniper with this stuff. I'm fine with whats happening.

    :hamer:

There is a myth that Gettleman did a good job last season because the team had such a good record. He didn't. He signed off on Mike Shula becoming the new OC over Hue Jackson even though Shula hadn't been an OC in 14 years because he was so fucking terrible at it in his only previous experience. Gettleman also steadfastly refused to bring in any competition whatsoever for Byron Bell at right tackle despite having the cap room and knowing about Bell's obvious struggles. Gettleman also neglected right guard, taking a raw project in Kugbila as opposed to David Bahktiari, a guy I was calling for during the draft and who is the starting left tackle for Green Bay. Gettleman also took Kenjon Barner instead of Andre Ellington when I said the day of the draft that it was a big mistake, as Ellington is now the starting running back for Arizona.

Gettleman did sign Ted Ginn in what proved to be a highly beneficial move, although you all know that I fully supported that move at the time and said Ginn would be a good wideout here. Unfortunately he also wasted over a million on Hixon when I said that was a mistake, particularly because it would push a young WR off the roster when this team desperately needed to keep developing them for the future. Gettleman did draft Star Lotulelei, but who here didn't want Star? That took no vision and deserves no special credit. Whether or not he deserves credit for Mike Mitchell depends on how you grade his play last season. I think Mitchell was a below average safety who got exposed several times in coverage, and he obviously cost the team with missed tackles and unnecessary penalties such as in the playoff game against San Francisco. The one thing I'll give him credit for that I didn't approve of was drafting Kawaan Short, which looks like a pretty good move so far.

So Gettleman has done one thing right that I didn't agree with, while he made a whole mess of mistakes that I said would be mistakes when he made them. We have the quotes of me announcing those mistakes when they happened, so you have irrefutable evidence that I knew better than Gettleman. I still do. I would never have Byron Bell at left tackle. I would never cut Steve Smith and cost the team an extra $2 million just to establish my dominion over the team.

There's really no denying that had the Panthers done what I said they should do, the team would be in better shape today than they are. Much better shape. So yeah, I think it's pretty fucking safe to say that I know better than Dave Gettleman. He has his job not because of competence but because of connections. His indefensible support of Shula and Byron Bell along with his callous dismissal of Steve Smith prove his incompetence beyond any further discussion.

    Fuck all that

Gettleman has been great...compared to any guy around. I can nit pick a fucking diamond as well but I won't. Thing is...the WR corps was not good last year. Period. Losing them all is no great loss. Ginn I liked but still average production. I think Gettleman knows WTF he is doing. Until he fucks this shit up completely I am hanging with him...not Colin. Sorry you are not a fucking expert bitch.

How can you argue this man? Forget FA which he fucking aced. And the draft...ACED again. What about UDFA Lester, White, etc. Its crazy. He was killer. Any GM doing better?

The rookie tackle for GB did not play well at all, from what I've read. Otherwise I agree.
