Agreed that most medicinal marijuana users are abusing the system, but to say it has ZERO value is misinformed and disingenuous.

Also remember that there are various ways to ingest. It doesn't have to be burned (although that is certainly the preferred method of stoners).

 

Prescription medications are the accepted treatment for Dravet Syndrome. "Medical" marijuana treatment of it is highly controversial and not clinically proven to be beneficial, although there are anecdotal claims about it being effective, usually from parents who complain about the side effects of the traditional prescription medications.

I suppose if I had or watched someone suffer from a seizure disorder I'd too be concerned about side effects. Good medicine really isn't all that good if you have a less than desirable quality of life.

Cannabis is relatively harmless compared to a lot of traditional "acceptable" medications. It's not a panecea cure-all many make it out to be, but it certainly has its uses. I think we'll see that as attitudes towards the drug change and we see more studies.

It has already been studied extensively. It is not a medicine, as much as people who enjoy smoking pot like to pretend otherwise to justify and defend their habit. It can be used as a treatment for certain things, as can a lot of substances that aren't medicines such as aloe vera for burns, but the attempt to legitimize cannabis is absurd. If someone likes getting high they should just say they like getting high. They shouldn't pretend it's medicine and the rest of us definitely shouldn't go along with it.

 

so, did you know bipolar people can have their condition triggered by weed? and most bipolar people don't react well to weed? maybe why you hate it colin?

also, personally know a lady w/ a daughter in nc who the meds don't stop her seizures. ingesting a very small amt of weed works and works well. they are having to move to co. parents don't smoke. there are proven medical uses, and people like getting high too. people get to drink. wtf?
