It's on paper. Nicks has more drops and zero touchdowns. He's been total shit.

It would be a windfall for the Giants if they could get a high pick for him.

No right, I agree his year has been a travesty. It's been pretty horrible for Eli Manning and well, the whole team too. Nicks certainly hasn't helped the situation, and it's pretty moot because the article was just some shithead throwing out bullshit in the wind....

I'm just curious. Do you think LaFell is better than Nicks?

This year? Absolutely. Our top 3 are outplaying Nicks.

For the sake of comparison, Mike Wallace has had similar numbers to LaFell despite playing in a pass heavy offense.

This year Nicks has almost twice as many yards as LaFell.

LaFell does have 3 TDs to Nicks' 0. That's about it.

Rookie Keenan Allen has more yards than LaFell.

I'm not against LaFell, but he's not much more than just a guy. He's a solid blocker, he works hard, but he's just a guy. I don't get the manlove for him.

edit - No yeah, I'm just curious as to why we supported giving up a third for Olsen when he was just average at Chicago, and yet we'd bitch if we did the same for Nicks, who has shown he can be a playmaker and the top receiver on a Superbowl offense.

I know it's like...the vogue thing on here to suck off LaFell every time he makes a 9 yard catch or something.....and overall I have nothing against him at all, and really like him as a blocker and a possession guy. And let's not get it twisted...Nicks won't ever be a Panther. I guess I just don't get it. Hypothetically speaking, it wouldn't be the worst thing that ever happened, and I like the thought of Proehl working with him. But eh. It's not gonna happen, so I was more just asking out of curiosity because of all the rabid LaFell lust here.

I agree with almost all of this. I don't think LaFell is anything special, other than being a very good blocking WR. Ginn seems to have supplanted him as #2, which is good to see. The question should actually be, do we think Nicks is better than Ginn right now? I would argue that he's not, and therefore not worth the pick investment.

I thought we were past the point where "yards" were a real meaningful stat.
