Teams have done that in the past (Vince young, pre jail Vick) it only lasts for so long eventually good defenses force them to pass and they get beat down.

I get that, but in my opinion, I still play to my strength. there have been too many great qb's that because of their mobility, the offense worked better, and presented a greater challenge to defenses. his size and movement should be used more, again, imho.

Bad coaches don't play to their players strengths, only good coaches do that. Jim Harbaugh is using Kaepernick exactly how he should, for instance. There's no trying to mold him into something he's not, and the end result is pretty fantastic. Hopefully Rivera and Shula come to their senses and stop trying to be the Dungy Buccaneers. This offense has so much more potential than that.

Rivera having made all of those comments about how he did "his own study" on the read-option and concluded the team needed to run a lot less of it was terrifying, both because it means that he's way out of his element as a head coach and because it suggests that he may also be listening to the complaints of the fans.

    Agreed.

Can anybody remind me how much time was left on the clock before halftime when we left all 3 time outs on the field, and didn't try for 40 or so yards for a long FG try?

Rivera seems to be even more conservative than Foxy's panthers were, something we pulled our hair out about then.
