So, someone explain to me why he is the "hands down" #2 receiver, cause I simply don't see it. I've seen more from Gettis, Ginn and even fucking Armanti than LaFell so far in the preseason. Granted, its the preseason, but its not like he blew the roof off last year. He seems to have some terrible drops, and average to below average speed.

Obviously you're going to have more drops if your hands are down.

Olsen is the #2 receiver here. Why is that hard for people to grasp?

As for LaFell, he actually has a very good target/catch ratio. He had a drop against Baltimore and Gruden made a huge deal about it, but he's a pretty reliable receiver and perfectly capable of being the second WR here. I love Ginn (fuck everyone who said he was strictly a return specialist) but he played great against Pittsburgh's backups. His role is 3rd WR/returner.

In other words, it's better to think of the opposite WR spot as the 3rd WR in this offense. It would be nice if we were stacked across the board but most teams aren't.

Pretty much everyone besides me? I keep thinking that one of these times the people who argue with me will come back and say "Hey, you were right. Good job" But after 7,096,331 opportunities maybe I should give up hope.

As for LaFell, here are the numbers from 2012:

No, you won't, because you didn't do it before when I was proven correct and you were proven wrong. I'm the only person here with the balls to come back and say they were wrong without being prompted (to PP regarding Lavonte David, etc). If more people could acknowledge their mistakes then maybe they wouldn't keep making so many.

I love Ginn too, but he is who we thought he was, a returner with the ability to run deep routes. I'm truly glad he has shown better hands than those in Miami and SF said he had so far. But its still only preseason, he and Anderson were on different pages week 1, hell different books. I'm truly glad he is a Panther tho.

Weve gone from Edwards, Gettis and now Ginn being the #3WR in the space of 4 preseason games. I thought Hixon looked decent last night too FWIW.

Looks like they all may make is this year anyway. Hopefully 2 or 3 will prove worthy of extending past the year.

He's somewhere between a starter and who you thought he was. He's a #3 receiver in the NFL.
