I wonder what the difference is between Hantgartners vet minimum contract (assuming) and what it would take to resign Wharton?

NFL isn't kind to marginal players around 30. Pushes them out

I guess adding Wharton and Moore would be asking too much.

Any word on what the Cards signed Winston for?

Hangartner was set to make $1.575 mil this year and count almost $2.3 mil against the cap. About $716k will stay on this year's capalong with $667k against next year's cap for the remaning signing bonus he got in 2012.

That coupled with the amount we already cleared (thanks Beason!!!) should be more than enough to sign Wharton.

Edit: Before this move, it looks like we were about $12.8 under the cap for 2013. So now it looks like we are around $14.3 mil under now AND we clear Hangartner's $2.5 Million base and workout bonus amount from the cap for 2014.

If that's all he got I hope we make an effort to get Wharton and Moore.

Gets has done a decent job keeping some guys that could have left for relatively cheap (Munny and Edwards) and helped to fix some cap problems (still confused on the Gross deal) and had a decent draft with Star falling.

But the right side of the Oline and safety position, the two biggest problem areas last year haven't been adequately addressed.

I can see Mitchell filling a role at SS for sure but a full time starter i'm not so convinced about. Are they seeing enough out of him to not bring in Mikel?

Kug needs to get back on the field badly.
