Hixon vs AE

Recently acquired wideout Domenik Hixon will miss all of this week's three-day minicamp after injuring his hamstring last week during OTAs, Panthers coach Ron Rivera said Tuesday.
“He tweaked it about a week ago so we’re being careful with it,” Rivera said. “He is coming on, did some really nice things for us, but unfortunately we’re going to miss out on the next couple days without him.”
Hixon, the former Giants wideout, missed all but two games in 2010 and 2011 after twice tearing the ACL in his right knee. He missed time last year with an ankle injury. (from Person and CO)

Go ahead and rip me apart, but I would keep Armanti over Hixon going into this season.

 

There have been an awful lot of hamstring injuries lately, especially among baseball players.

 

I would have just stopped after signing Ginn. We didn't need another god damn WR. It already feels like an injury settlement waiting to happen.

Proehl was talking Armanti way up so there's that. Hixon is low cost short term deal. Trying to improve the 3rd and 4th, even the last WR slot is cool with me.

 

Armanti getting talked up during OTAs is an annual event now. He's turned the corner enough times to be back where he started

 

Yeah I know there are camp heroes every year, Walter Young, etc., but I don't remember anything about Armanti like what I read from Proehl this time. It would be nice if Proehl were right.

2011 EDWARDS STEPPING UP: Former Appalachian State star WR Armanti Edwards has been one of the early stars of camp and Rivera acknowledged that fact Tuesday.
When asked if anyone has stood out to him, Rivera said, “What we’re getting from Armanti Edwards has been outstanding and it’s been a reflection of the way he worked. I think guys have to understand that the offseason is important, whether you have OTAs or minicamps, how you handle that offseason is important and Armanti has made some great strides. Hopefully he can continue to grow as a football player.”

2012 He also said receiver Armanti Edwards is having "an outstanding camp."

I hear Newton and Ginn have been connecting on some deep routes. It may just be OTA's but its a good sign all the same.

Steve Reed was reporting that Kugbila was practicing with the 1st team at RG.
