I looked it up and you're right. Huh. Interesting, from what I've read that's not been clear enough, and it should be, considering the previous thought carries a somewhat negative connotation.

The latter however, shows he put in the work to do the right thing. And even hearing him talk about it now, makes me like him a little more.

    Glad you pointed that out.

And B&B by no means did it take me this long...it's just this notion that drafting Star is going to save us, feels like Cowboys fans to me. Every player is the star everyone else wants....

Yeah, not qualifying academically is definitely a red flag, but everything I've heard since him joining the Utes has been overwhelmingly positive. It's funny, he's going to think the NFL is a breeze after playing 91% of his defense's snaps in college.

As for the big picture, I too am distressed about the salary cap situation, especially given the expiring contracts of Hardy and Cam. Still, I really like that we can believe the DL has been addressed. The secondary and to a lesser extent the OL are still huge holes, but hopefully those can be addressed next off-season. It's too bad the Panthers don't have some cap room because Charles Woodson and Eric Winston are just sitting out there.

Getting Star was something to legitimately be over the moon about. Doesn't mean that alone will change the fortunes of the franchise, but learn to be happy when good shit happens to you.

This is why I just don't get my hopes up anymore. I haven't really dug into the Panthers for two years now. I hang out on the message board at work sometimes while I'm editing some goddamn race or indie movie, but that's about it. We're just so fucked with our cap. You've been yelling about it for years, I'll give you credit for that one. Now it's all en vogue to bitch about Hurney in the media, but honestly, in the shape we're in, I can't see us being competitive for another three or four years. Ugh. And this year, with retaining Rivera, seems like such a goddamn waste.

Ya know what this means everyone?

Cam Newton will be going into his third playbook next year - or at least his third OC.

Goddamn, I still get mad when I think about Jackson not getting the gig.

I'm beaten down like a fucking dead child on a cold black road in the freezing rain, man. I have no faith in this franchise. At all. Not even a little.

The Shula hiring broke my soul. It was all downhill from there, man.

You mean accidents like this one, Dave? The accident that happened to our franchise?

I get it, Mr. Gettleman. Just next year apply the same attention to our offensive line, will ya? Let's keep the quarterback on his feet please, and create some lanes for our billion dollar backfield.

Crisis is the most appropriate word I can think for it right now.

    Crisis.

Next year it's highly likely we won't have a starting caliber tackle at either spot.

    Goooooooooooooo PANTHERRRRRS!!!
