You guys remind me of the end scene of dumb and dumber. You know when the tropic girls bus pulls over and offers them the chance to be the oil boys.. Thats how you guys treat the cam newton situation. You don't deserve a star cause you sure the hell don't know how to act having one on your team. Just break the guy down all the time.

It's okay to treat players as something other than infallible gods.

Agreed but the guy could throw for 300 yards and 5 Tds and still most on this board will say he sucks. He can post up 30 points but the defense can give up 35 and lose the game and its still his fault. This team has searched for a franchise qb for years..you have one and you still talk hella shit. It's weak..

Cam was 15th in QB rating his rookie season and 15th again last season. His completion percentage is well below average for a starting quarterback. I am glad that he reduced his interceptions, but unfortunately he also doubled his fumbles. No one is saying that Cam is a bum, but calling him a "franchise qb" is pretty ridiculous since he obviously has not established himself at that level yet. Obviously Newton is more talented than Russell Wilson, and yet Wilson was better last season than Cam has been in either of his. Throw in the bad attitude and seeming indifference to his flaws as a player and fans have sufficient reason to be concerned.

He has not yet proven he is a franchise Qb. When you're talking about committing 17-20% of your cap to one guy, it's reasonable to expect a lot from him. Lion on safari, on a higher level than his teammates. Stupid Superman crap down two TDs. A fucking pussy in some postgame pressers. Me me me me attitude. You kiss his ass if you want to but stfu telling me I have to be a little fan boy.

edit: or what Collin said, yo.

Cam certainly got better at getting the ball out quicker as the season went on last year. That said, it would be cool to not cringe every time he drops back on 3rd and long or in the red zone. He is an absolute monster running it in from 2 yards out, but God forbid he has to throw it in that situation.

Eh, everyone has a point here. While Cam has his issues, and even his most ardent supporters have iced up a little because of his bullshit, it's still true that we're an unforgiving lot that often doesn't appreciate the good things we do have.

I don't blame some for...feeling like they're in the twilight zone when fans begin talking about drafting another QB, when we have so many other needs.

While it's true Newton is a moron sometimes, he is also one of the best players on it. Wilson is playing on a team with a superb defense, a team not coached by Rivera, and a team that has balance in it's offense. For all the good Chud did, he ran a terribly unbalanced offense that went through bouts of sheer schizophrenia. Newton's had his stamp on several of our collapses, but he's led us to late leads, when everything else from the D, to STs, to offensive slapstick comedy took it away from us at the end.

This team is still not a well coached team. If that were different, Cam's record would be different too.

On a completely unrelated note, both Ron Rivera's, and Kawann Short's eyeballs both look in a different direction.

As Foxy is fond of saying, no one person loses the game.

    He plays under Ron Rivera.

Hey unless Cam improves, and proves beyond a doubt this year that he is worth the ridiculous money that cook will demand he gets paid I could get on the Bridgewater band wagon. All the cam homers may want to know that regardless of how Cam plays this year his fuckin agent WILL demand top 5 QB money for him . .. MINIMUM. Unless cam proves that he is capable of consistent top 5 QB play I do not want the guy crippling my favorite teams cap for years and years to come just because he shocked and awed out of the gate and he has will smith-like charisma.
