If they got under the cap somehow they could probably trade him for a 2nd rounder. It would make teams at least know they might keep him.

It would be terribly disappointing to release Gamble. They can't get some kind of middle round pick from the 49ers?

    Olsen has restructured...

    per Person tweet...

Confirmed that #Panthers TE @gregolsen82 has restructured, converting salary to bonus $ to help with cap. 1st reported by

    Joe Person ‏@josephperson
The Olsen move will free up $2.4 million vs. the cap, per a source with knowledge of the situation.

Ugh. More and more money is being pushed into future seasons. Gettleman is making this worse instead of better.

Realistically, totally undercutting '13 was never going to happen.

Apparently Beason is staying so get ready for more of his cash to be pushed back as well.

Not once Rivera was retained, but it was a perfectly realistic option and something they probably should have done.

If we hadn't just done that 2 years ago, maybe so.

Hope of a winning record vs likely 6 straight years (or even more) without one, if we gutted everything. I get what is going on now a lot more than I got what happened the last two years.

Does anyone think the Panthers can realistically compete with just this roster, though? And if not, then what's the point of keeping it together at the cost of hurting future seasons?
