If I remember right, Gamble's contract on spotrac is also errant in that the option bonus is counted in years 1-5 when it should be 2-6

And Gross will get an extension that puts a shit-ton of money in future seasons with only about a $3 million cap hit for 2013.

I wish nfl trades were like MLB 's where the team trading a player could pay a portion if the contract

It would likely be in the $5 mil range.

    Base Salary - $8,700,000
Renegotiated Bonus - $2,000,000 (from $10 mil bonus in 2010)
Renegotiated Bonus - $1,000,000 (from $5 mil bonus in 2009)
    Total Cap - $11,700,000

So at least $3 mil are on the books no matter what they do (cut or restructure).

Which, I'm sure plenty of people don't care, but I think that sucks. He's 29 and he's played good football. Don't want he or Gross to go.

He could easily be restructured. AS can gross, johnson, beason, kalil, williams, smitty, and Olsen.

Not saying those are the smart long term moves to make, but they all have high enough salaries that we could save a couple of million here or there cap wise.

And thanks for the mention of that sportrac site. That's the kinda shit I expect from tbr football.

So how much money do we need to clear to comply with the cap and to pay the draft/rookie class?
