bingo. you said it better than I ever did.

I also like the idea of adding a traditional TE like Alabama's Michael Williams. don't have to make a huge investment, just cant miss on every single one like Hurney did.

LaFell already has the highest catch percentage and the best yards per target of the team's wide receivers. And none of you have yet bothered to answer where these magical extra targets are supposed to come. Don't you agree that Tolbert and the backs should be utilized more in the passing game? There is absolutely zero, repeat zero need for a new starting wideout. It simply isn't the case. Carolina could absolutely use a better third option than Louis Murphy, who has been terrible despite my reasonably high hopes, but that's it.

who said it had to be a starter? What about Gettis? Edwards? Pilares? Adams? How many have a long term future here? We should just sit tight?

For now, yeah. The roster has way too many legitimate needs to spend money or high picks on a luxury.

never said high picks were necessary, although I do like Justin Hunter more than most. To me, having a consistent and apt passing game is not a luxury, it's the teams livelihood. Cam's biggest assets are his legs, his size, and his big arm. should we not have receivers that can stretch the defense and take advantage of the big arm? I'm hoping this offense stays around even if the coaches do not. Not sure changing things up is in Cam's best interest and the offense does seem to suit him.

Agree completely. Put the pieces around him to allow him to be successful.

See, I think LaFell should move to the 3rd WR slot which you rightfully lament, and the addition should be the #2 (who should be good enough to supplant Smitty over time, as he ages), plus a 3rd or 4th round pick with potential.

You must be a Tennessee fan. Hunter has 9 TDs this year but 8 of them were against crap teams (Akron, Georgia St and another Div1A team). Only 1 against SEC team Kentucky near the end. This year isn't the year to draft WR when the best prospect hasn't done it against legit talent

LaFell has been fine in the slot, as needed. I think we have the potential guys, need someone with some form of proven ability.
