    Someone educate me. Since IMO his range is more limited now wouldn't he have been better suited outside to start?

    Doubtful- we'd take a cap hit of around 15 million if we cut or trade him next year.

    Just can't see bringing him back with a lost step, and a rookie that's better. Maybe he could be traded in the offseason for something.

    You still take the massive cap hit that way, unless beas is particularly nice about a contract restructure he's coming back.

    A restructure doesn't take away the $20 million bonus they paid...so that accelerated hit stays. They could, in theory, cut him after the 2013 season and designate him as a June 1 cut. that would mean about a $5 million cap hit in 2014 and a $4 million cap hit in 2015
