I wonder if they will keep him or just cut him. He may never play in the NFL again either way. Its a shame to see a guy with his talent not be able to make it. Injuries stop the best of them but it sounds like his situation is at least partially his own fault.

Staying fat and not trying on your own to get in shape isn't an injury issue. Its a lazy issue.

They've even said, that while with the team he shows real signs of improvement on handling his weight and his knee getting better, but when the team isn't involved in the offseason, he doesn't get any better and even somewhat regresses. I'm sorry but you're a gown assed man getting paid millions to play a game. Put down the extra doughnut.

Sounds like he is not putting in the work to rehab it in addition to being over weight. He is probably done. If he can't pass a physical no one will sign him.

This comes from the comments section of profootballtalk, and it does nothing but confirm what most already suspect:

"I went to high school with this guy and I’m not at all surprised. Our high school was a military style boarding school where all you had to do was follow orders and life was easy. Otah was lazy, he missed class all of the time, his shoes were never shined and his uniform was always dirty, he was insubordinate and he never put out during strength training/conditioning. He was literally just a massive guy who could push people around on the field and that only works up to a certain level."

In other words think Jamarcus Russell as an offensive lineman

This is just such a sad situation. So much promise early on and then just nothing. He aint gonna be resigned anyway even if he magically makes the field this year.

During his rookie season he was golden. The running game was dominant and he looked like the next great offensive lineman. Things change quickly in the NFL though.....

Otah was always a liability in pass protection and very good but not elite as a run blocker. It's not like he was a Pro Bowl-level player who got injured.
