Anderson is fine as a back up. The problem with this thought process is there is no other guy close to being Cam. Cam is the only one who can really run that variation of our offense. Having DA come in would cause teams to drasticly change game plans, sort of like when VY was backed up by Collins. 2 different style qbs.

For what the Falcons had to give up I'd offer a 7th as well for Jenkins

Not trying to pick on you, but that's a terrible comparison. Vince Young and Kerry Collins were very different as passers, whereas Cam and Anderson aren't that different in terms of their passing strengths & weaknesses. With Newton out you would obviously lose the running threat which would therefore affect coverage, and you'd take away all the designed runs, but otherwise the play-calling would stay pretty much the same.

Dallas isn't looking to dump him, though. If they could get a nice offer they'd take it, but they're better off keeping Jenkins as a starter and working Claiborne in slowly.

My point is that Cam being mobile and taking off does change things alot. The playcalls may be the same but the zone read option creates different issues defensively for teams and red zone offense is completely different. If DA comes in the offense goes much more conventional.
