http://www.thisboardrocks.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2706015#post2706015 Coverage of DTs in this draft is like coverage of the Republican primary. Still was Gingrich, Poe was Cain, Brockers was Bachmann, and Cox is Santorum. Draft columnists keep artificially pushing people up that high because they want a DT to be in the top 10 even though it's beyond clear that none of them are actually worth putting that high.

Romney is the idea that no DTs belong in the top 10. Everyone knows it should be the choice, but many don't want to accept it.

Just like any other draft we don't know if any DT belong in the top 10 of the 2012 draft for another 3-5 years. We'll all basing where these players will go and when they're worth taking on personal opinion. Most of us get our facts from youtube clips, watching games and the media hype.

I laugh at anyone who says so and so would be a good pick at 15 through 20 but he's not worth the number 10 pick. Look at any redraft after the fact and you'll seen quite a few 1st round players, including top 10 guys, who should not even have been picked in the first round.

If the Panthers pick Cox or Gilmore or whoever with the 10th pick I think at least they've done their homework and they think that player is the best player available at that pick. I may think Coples or whomever would have been a better pick but I didn't meet with the guy for hours, interview him and go over game tape. I also didn't do that with the other players I may like at that pick to compare them too.

For my own personal opinion, I think there are 4-5 elite players in this draft and they'll be gone before we pick. After that you've got about 7-10 players who are pretty close in potential. If we take Gilmore at 9 and they could not trade down or think he's worth the pick then I'm OK with that. I've been even happier if we traded back, got Kirkpatrick and an extra 2nd rounder.

I've heard Philadelphia is the probable landing spot for Cox and Poe to Dallas but who knows

Projection will always be imperfect, but that doesn't mean we're just guessing. The reality is that Fletcher Cox isn't as physically talented as defensive tackles you would typically expect to go in the top 10. That doesn't mean he won't be a great professional, as he could end up in multiple Pro Bowls, but it does mean that he's not an elite physical talent and never will be.

Can't say, as I didn't watch Washington this season.
