fair enough, but that being said, I like who got at the nose better than who we got at the other spot (MacLain, Neblett, Nwagbuo). And correct me if im wrong, but you dont usually spend a top 10 pick on a space eater unless you're a 3-4 team in need of a nose or that particular space eater can move and play like Haloti Ngata can. Like I said, i like the group we have at the nose and wouldnt mind rolling the dice to see if someone (or some rotation) emerges as a productive unit. The athletic 3-technique is the rarer commodity and the commodity we are more in need of. So are you on the Dontari Poe bandwagon? Any suggestions for nose tackles later in the draft? Ta'amu? Chapman?

Just saw that Mike Mayock has Quinton Coples ranked as the #50 overall player on his board. Reason he quoted was that there was no tape in the 2011 season to like about him. So it's not just me that's skeered of him. :p

I do find it ammusing that a guy that had 17 sacks in 2 years gets labelled as lazy.

Id take Coples and Brockers over Cox or Ingram for the Dline.

Its interesting that Beason is pimping Poe, well maybe not, MLB's always do that.

Hurneys letting Beason chirp to get the heat off Kuechly IMO.

I'm not saying what we have at any of our DTs are good. I was simply responding that we're fine at NT and that's as far from true as possible. As far as Poe, good lord no. If you go back and look I was probably his biggest critic on here. Ta'amu is the one that intrigues me the most, but I'm not sure if he's quite worth the 2 the Panthers have, and they don't have a 3. I guess maybe if they traded down in the second.

No one is confident about the DT situation. I still believe it's the biggest weakness defensively, but unfortunately the draft is shit at that position and the team can't afford anyone in free agency.

I want us to pick him so I can see a Charlotte Observer headline "Panthers Grab Cox"

That's why I'm afraid they'll reach on Cox. Cox in the 12 -16 range I could deal with, but I really think more talent can be had at 9. I would rather take a more talent guy at the spot even if we had to try to patch the hole all year round and suffered because of it. Because its gonna piss me off if someone is drafted 10-15 makes a pro bowl regularly, and even though we liked the pro bowl player, Cox was a bigger "need".

I don't think anyone considers Cox a 12-20 guy anymore. As a matter of fact, there are a lot of rumors he'll be gone before we pick, by either St Louis at 6 or Jacksonville at 7.
