To go with that, word was that JDR would be potential replacement.

Fisher's being a little bit of a woman about the Rams/Dolphins.

Marty Schottenheimer (yes, Marty) getting an interview in Tampa.

So Joe Philbin, Packers' OC, gets the chance to interview for a head coaching position, and good for him. And then his kid goes missing, and then they identify the body this afternoon.

I'm kinda out of words for how shitty that is, I mean fuck coaching in the first place in comparison, but it's just a little shittier to have worked your entire life for a moment like that, and halfway through the moment the worst possible thing happens to you.

Marty getting that job is a good way out for Brian, I hear the Jets aren't dying to hold onto him but don't want to pay his way out.

To be honest, part of me, when they wanted to discuss Brian here, I was like, why not just Marty instead? Martyball has a lot more going for it than what Brian would do, IMO. You can pretend for a while it's an heir apparent thing I guess, also.

that's the best possible name, I guess. JDR might enliven that defense for a bit but it's missing its punch either way.

That's horrible about Philbin's son. Christ sake.

Marty would be a good get for TB regardless of his age. Nobody good wants that job.

he'll probably want more than they'll pay, but he, Sherman, and what the fuck ever else they'll try to interview - who knows, really - are down and out. Wade Phillips, having had numerous shots at this shit too, is somehow the guy on the way up. I'm OK with any of them, except Sherman might try the option with Freeman and there's no way our defense doesn't shit the bed.

The other two will probably try to go 3-4, which they have the DL for I guess, and will cost a much greater investment in LB than they have, so I guess that's helpful.

I don't think it would be about $$ with Marty but who knows. He's 68 and probably taken care of financially. I just think he wants back in.
