I can't remember all the details. Did he do the trade for Gilbert or was that after Dom took over as GM?

If Peyton comes back and plays at his usual level then I still think they're in the 7-9 to 9-7 range given the rest of the roster, so they could trade him at that point. Sounded last night like Luck has no interest in sitting for a season, so maybe Peyton would be willing to restructure if he has input on where he's traded.

That's what I think has to happen. I really don't see another viable option that makes sense for the Colts.

That was later. Polian caused the rift with Kevin Greene and left the roster pretty thin in an attempt to win games early on (which Richardson deserves some blame for as well). Plus his draft picks with the Panthers were pretty shitty aside from Muhsin Muhammad.

They got good really quickly but it was not built to last. I am not sure you can put all that on Polian though. The Kevin Greene thing was pretty awful. No reason not to pay the guy. He was an elite pass rusher and was not asking for huge money. He was also very important to the team chemistry.

He did a good job with free agents. Sam Mills, Lamar Lathon, Kevin Greene, Greg Kragen, Carlton Bailey, Wesley Walls, Steve Burlien, Rocket Ismail, Mark Carrier were all good pickups.

The draft picks could have been better but he was smart enough to trade down rather than take Ki Jana Carter. If Kerry Collins had not been a drunk he might have started here for 15 years. If Timmy B had not been so fragile he would have had a solid career. Moose was a good pick. Did Minter get drafted by Polian?

Carter was never a serious consideration. The Panthers were deciding between Steve McNair and Kerry Collins. Polian chose Collins.

    No.
