Good place for a win. So tired of all the "hey, let's kiss Drew Brees ass hype."

    No.
Around 2:30, Sean Payton is gonna be checkin' the score of that SFO-SL massacre, and it will be the Chase Daniel show around 2:31.

I love Rivera's comment (paraphrasing here)....."Coach, do you want Brees playing so you can beat them at their best?"

Chico: "No, I want to get a win, honestly."

It's a good place for an upset, in that their focus might be in various places, but ours is in one. We also played them strong last time, and their defense is shit.

But so's ours. Our QB rating in various parts of the defense are awful. We're without our best rusher. You can't blitz Brees, and you can't disguise much, so you just have to work on tendency and try to not make mistakes.

So that's what you hope for. You know your receivers, you know your line, you work with what you know. I don't want to see us roll over, either way.

I'd like the Panthers to trick play them to death and embarrass them, Brees or no Brees, and St Louis to beat SF to make it hurt worse. If they win this game and SF loses, they get the bye. It'd be nice to knock them out of that.

The 49ers aren't losing to STL, but it's nice that 13/16 games this week have potential playoff implications. Hats off to the NFL for making week 17 all divisional.

hoping the Panthers can rough Brees up a bit early and they put in the back-up.

Interesting to see if Panthers can get any pressure without Johnson.

    Inactives:
    Carolina at New Orleans

Panthers: QB Jimmy Clausen, K Adi Kunalic, LB Omar Gaither, S Jordan Pugh, DT Andre Nesblett, DE Charles Johnson, C Jeff Byers
Saints: HB Mark Ingram, S Malcolm Jenkins, LB Jonathan Vilma,
WR Lance Moore, DE Jeff Charleston, TE Tory Humphrey, TE John Gilmore
