Not excusing Cam's ints, but on the two hits he took close together in the second half, he seemed to many of us in the stands shaken. Maybe not injured, but definitely a bit shaken up. The one interception was just plain stupid. Take the sack and start over.

Let's NEVER try another field goal or extra point, just go for it on fourth and go for 2.

Never seen a team play so well one half and so HORRIBLE the second. Either someone locked the real Panthers in the lockerroom for the second half, or this team is spectacularly bi-polar. The ecstcy & the agony - a bit backwards. Would have even been a bit better had they stunk the first half and then made a drive to try and win it.

For once, I didn't run into any really nasty Falcons fans!

even though I'm still kinda pissed about giving away a division game that might've meant something, and it not being the first game we literally giftwrapped - that was a team with twice as many wins as us.

Would be neat if Jason Shirley worked out all the time. If not, kudos on the big play, hope it buys you some playing time next year. It's pretty cool that guys like him, Applewhite, Keiser are playing well. It'd be great if our defense was playing lights out, and it did fairly well this week without the rookies at DT and a host of other problems, when the offense was on the field more than five plays at a time. I'm not giving up on this defense.

Kalil stood out this game. He was blocking toward the endzone on the Olsen play, and made the two tackles on the INTs, but just had a good game when in. I had no idea what the injury was (thanks to terrible reception, somehow, at the top of the bowl), and then saw he was back in.

Didn't read about Gross not playing until the start of the game, Wharton did well. We need to re-evaluate going into next year as to whether Wharton can play RT, if there's a concern about Otah at all, and move the less available Otah around instead.
Bernadeau somehow seems to do allright at LG but nowhere else.

That Williams run was fantastic. I haven't seen it from any other angle, and I'm OK with that. I love an endzone view.

Johnson only got credit for a half sack, which was crap. He took the guy down. It really undervalued what was a great game, with three tackles for loss and two hurries to go with the sack.

Gamble had two PD. Good game there. Butler looked like he was going to make some shit happen with his two PD down the sideline too. They just went at him one too many times. I'd have some solid shit to say about the D and a short field if they hadn't let that ********** Jones get a gimme touchdown for no reason.

Yeah Kalil made an outstanding block on the Olsen play. It's rare that you see an OL guy impact a play that far downfield. That's hustle, not quitting, etc. I've missed some of what he does that lead people to vote him in Pro Bowls, but I saw that.

The defense, well, they're trying, God bless 'em. We may end up identifying an under the radar type player or two that can help us in the future.

Awesome post. Agreed with Butler, I thought he got a bum rap. He played well. We see now, that the TD was partially Munnerlyn's responsibility and with the miscommunication there, that it was not all on Butler. Guy took bullets, competed.

I'd like a true second corner. And for all the hate on Gamble man, I don't get that. Dude's been playing lights out this year, and as for the NFC? He needs to get Pro Bowl consideration.

Kalil is the fucking man. And we got him when we drafted for BPA, when technically, we did not need a C.

It didn't seem like he was pissed, to me. Just trying to shake up his comments. More shell shocked. I mean, the guy is pretty much resorting to "what he said", just agreeing with what his angry stars are saying.

I think he realizes he's run out of things to say, because really, nothing is changing. There has been minimal improvement at best, lots of regression, and an overall abysmal season and record where he and his staff have been grossly exposed in second halves. I think he realizes his gig will be short lived, and that he better prepare to be a DC again.

I'd also hope that he stops taking digs at Coach Fox, who is leading the Holy Crusade toward an unlikely Superbowl run, while Rivera literally continues to set records for futility here. (worst defensive performances, flags and penalties, guys on IR, blown leads, ect., ect)

Facts are facts, and some of them support your viewpoint but a record number of guys on IR, seriously? That's on Rivera?

There is good stuff too. A defensive coach who wants a high powered offense, Smitty still here and thriving. We have real TEs and use them.

He's had success in every job he's had. Let's see how next year goes, after a proper offseason and a year's experience as HC under his belt.

    Agreed overall.

To be honest, I'm not writing him off. I see he has a track record of slow starts, but great finishes, and I'd be lying if I said that didn't give me hope.

Next year will tell us all we need to know.

It's always hard for me to quantify Pro Bowl and that's a tough one in the NFC but he's exceeded my expectations of him this year. Butler, too, for a guy that we picked up off waivers that late to play some nickel is pretty cool. Hell, if that were Hogan out there right now I'd feel good about our draft this year. Can we just pretend that's Hogan? Someone suggest that to the team.

I was a Butler fan and was happy the team picked him up, but I've seen him play poorly on a number of occasions to the point that I no longer wonder why New England released him. He hasn't been good.
