Supposed to be announced today according to Mort, Mike & Mike show. Long time coming really. I don't see anyone hiring him as a HC really but most certainly DC.

wonder if Jack and Rivera are buds. HC of USC is rumored to be Del Rio's next gig though (old rumor)

Surely you know and are just joking, but Jack Del Rio is who I was referring to, SS.

Oops, SS. Steve Smith? Sidney Sheldon? Nope, Silver Surfer.

I know, I read the story. I doubt our JR would get many HC job offers either. :conehead:

I think he did a pretty good job with the Jaguars for a while. Shaq Harris (old GM) was really the one who fucked things up, and their GM finished the job by drafting Blaine Gabbert. I'm not sure they're going to find someone better than JDR who'd be willing to inherit that mess.

He really has not had a really good season as a coach since he left here as DC. They have not done much in a long time in Jacksonville. He handled the QB situation poorly over the years. Granted he never had a really solid QB but cutting the starter a week before the season starts two different years? The whole axe in the locker room was beyond stupid as well.

I suspect he will land somewhere as a DC and do well in that role. Some guys are like that, really good coordinators but not good head coaches.

It is a little bit strange that he lasted this long.
