Marshall or McDermott

I don't see why. 2011 was always supposed to be a transition year in hopes of being competitive in 2012 and beyond. These guys need to play in the system now so that they either learn it or the staff finds out that they can't in order to replace them.

 

The present matters, too. Not putting it all on the defense. A few less big plays allowed might have helped some, in hindsight.

 

Regrardless of any 'system', most of the D can't cover or tackle in a phone booth.

They have their moments they look ok, especially when the opposing O makes mistakes. but overall, they don't show much talent or preparedness or fundamentals.

I dunno. It's been more conservative than I expected. They're clearly dealing with a lot of shit out there. This isn't what they wanted to field, so I'm willing to suffer through it in hopes the obvious fixes come.

Sorry Purr, but we're undertalented and the coaching staff will get another season or two to get healthy and get "their guys" in place.

Even Herb Brooks (coach of the USA 1980 gold medal team) conceded that the Russians would win 9 out of 10 times due to size and sheer talent.

It takes more than rookies and practice squad fodder to beat an NFL team... even a bad NFL team.

Fair enough. Agreed that McDermott's probably not going anywhere. Neither is Hurney, Rivera or anyone else that's not a player for that matter.

Let's just see how it shakes out. It is what it is.
