    A few observations from objective eyes:

    • Jordan Gross is not a very good left tackle. Really, there's no "good" offensive lineman on this team outside of Kalil, so a total rebuild might be in order.
    • Cam Newton has a long way to go to become a "franchise QB". I'm really impressed with his competitive spirit, though. You want the guy to care and he obviously does.
    • Safety play for the Panthers has been awful at times. Whether it's Godfrey, Martin, or Pugh - it's been bad.
    • Not having an interior rusher is KILLING this team in critical situations. They have to start creating inside pressure.
    Good effort against a superior opponent, but this team is still a ways off.

    I don't know, Fox to some degree had better defensive personnel to work with. Rivera has a MUCH better offensive guy going for him. I'm far from ready to throw Rivera out. We were pretty bad last year. Cam is a rookie qb who many think will not be a pro QB - that might turn out true in the long run, but I think a lot of even his doubters have been a little surprised at times. We're starting over and although we're definitely struggling, I for one am still hopeful we're laying ground work for good things to come.

    Lions rack up 495 yards, the most ever allowed by the Panthers (493 vs. SLT in '01). Also, 29 first downs allowed team worst (28, Oak., '00)

    @josephperson Joe Person
    The 35 pts are the second-most by the Panthers in a loss. Fell to Redskins 38-36 in 1999.

    The 49 points allowed were the third-most in Panthers' history -- 52 at Oakland (12/24/00) and 51 at Atl. (10/4/98).

    Alot of these were when coach was on last leg. JR wont stand for this. He already knows he made an error, I'm betting.

    I can honestly say giving up 49 point is the worst thing that have happen to me in my career. This will never ever ever happen again

    No way they dump Rivera after one season. Let's just hope he gets better.

    Agreed those are the big ones. Honestly the secondary is without a doubt the worst in the league. No one can cover or tackle at all. Horrible. Also agree we have no pass rush. Seriously the only thing this defense can do is give up SERIOUS fantasy points to everyone and rekindle borderline RBs careers. :censored:
