    Currently Kasay (40 years) is playing with the New Orleans Saints and has current stats of 16 of 19 field goals, long 53, perfect inside of 50, perfect on extra points 28 of 28, and has a total points of 76, which is second in the league by 1 point.

    I thought it did a good job of making the point that Kasay is having a better season than Mare and that Mare is almost as old as Kasay.

    If Kasay is still here he nails that field goal against the Vikings.

    But we already knew before the season started that Kasay was a better field goal kicker. We posted that back then.

    Having the extra roster spot was a good idea. Choosing Mare, and paying him like that and for that long, not too sure about that.

    In theory you'd rather not carry two kickers, but kicking Kasay to the curb and paying Mare $12 million were both stupid decisions. That's Hurney being Hurney.

    I didn't even mind dropping Kasay, or picking up Mare, but the net sum is that we paid big for a kicker that plays middling.

    I don't mind moving on, but I would have preferred spending a fourth round pick on Henery. We also should have kept Kasay more in the loop just due to the length of his tenure with the team.
