Yeah, which is depressing, and the root behind my "we still should have picked Dareus instead of Cam" position. If Edwards comes back healthy then he'll help, but it's not like he was great even before getting injured, plus he'll be another year older. It's really a bad situation. I'd almost rather get another plugger to play under and just forget about pass rush from the DTs except when you can substitute someone in for obvious passing situations. Even if you get no push up the middle, as long as you can hold the point against the run then the rest of your defense can pick up the slack. If the DTs can't hold upfront, then that undermines everything else because it allows blockers to get to the LBs and forces the safeties to be a bigger presence in run support. I guess I'm wanting the 2000 Ravens / 2006 Vikings set-up, although we don't have a P. Williams, K. Williams, Adams, or Siragusa on the roster.

our 3rd was traded for Olsen i think. comp pick? i'd be good with CB,OLB. also would be good with a WR in the first. preference would be DL,OLB, and OG in the fourth, KR maybe in the 5th. a good vet WR would also make me happy. Nanny continues to piss me off.

Obviously we are going to build around Cam. Getting him another solid WR seems like a no brainer. I thought Lafell and Gettis could get it done but that was when we were still a run first offense. The OL could also use some help. I doubt Otah is ever right again. I am not sure we need a road grader like him at RT in this new offense anyway. Maybe put Wharton back at tackle and try to find some guards?

The defense needs lots of help but DT is the biggest need area, IMHO.

Matt Barkley just raised his draft stock against Stanford. With the success of first year QB's. this year, we could benefit from a run on them early in the '12 draft were we to end up with a top-10 selection.

I'm guessing if Edwards is healthy next year they do nothing. He's signed to a 3 year deal. They play him next to Fua. Not saying if the right guy drops in their lap they don't take him, but I bet they don't go out of their way.
