No, you had it right the first time, I was just facepalming your assertion that he's not going through reads because he's trying to get the ball out quickly. He's not going through multiple reads because the Chud doesn't want him to. He's supposed to read his primary, which is usually Olsen, the X, or the Z, and then come to his checkdown. Of course on 3rd & 10 he'll look for anyone open near or beyond the sticks, but on most pass plays he's not being asked to read coverage and make decisions about where to go with the ball. Again, I think that's a smart way for the coaching staff to help a rookie QB. I'm not knocking Cam over that, I'm just rolling my eyes at the media coverage acting like Cam is this preternatural savant who has developed a veteran's ability to decide where to throw. He's not looking off safeties and he's not going from one wideout to the other. If the primary isn't double covered, then he goes there.

Problem is that DT is shit both in free agency and the draft. Coples might be someone we look at for DE in the high first, but I hope not. I wish I could talk myself into Blackmon because he'd make the offense so ridiculous opposite Steve, but his flags are just too red. With no stud DT available, I guess I'd lean towards Kirkpatrick right now.

And as for Purr's question, I think they've already taken care of all key free agents. Backups like Connor and some of the O-line are the only ones I know of that will hit the market.

You should be thrilled that the Cam hype is keeping Chud relatively under the radar. He's not somebody you want to lose.

I don't think Chud is under the radar. But no, I wouldn't want to have to replace him right now either.

I really don't think he'll get a head coaching offer after one season as a coordinator, no matter how good it's been.

Good points from those who talk about how Cam is playing within himself with the help of Chudzinsky's offensive gameplan and Shula's coaching. Also have to credit Cam with having the work ethic and the good sense to listen to those that are charged with helping him.

ESPN is not going to stop with the bs either. Cam and the team deserve credit for coming up with a plan to get the most out of his rookie year but it is nothing to hang a hat on yet. There is a lot of football to play and a lot to be learned before Cam can graduate to the elite status.

Right now I admire Cam for doing what he has to develop into a great player so far.

true. He did regress on the 15 yard out once workouts came, and those tended to be high IIRC, but that's gotten better. He throws a very good out now.

It can't be stated often enough that Cam has made the games fun to watch again.

Bump for "Cam, start taking your job seriously and work on your shit or you're going to follow this same path."
