    He had his arms and the ball in front of him, which cushioned the impact. Steve has done that before, although he's also gotten an arm broken that way. Great to see the old Smitty back.

    Agreed. I was so pissed at the time that they spent a third round pick on a guy with injury and attitude problems at Utah who I never thought would be more than a good return man.

    The hit on Smith, which was clearly helmet to helmet if it's the catch I'm thinking about, why wasn't that a penalty on the Bears?? Does that only apply to QB's getting hit? I didn't get that.

    speaking of, I thought I'd heard Shockey has a concussion now on a score that doesn't actually "count" and possibly a broken finger. Makes sense since I didn't see him in late.

    Shockey broke his finger a couple weeks ago. GB maybe. He "re-aggravated" it again yesterday. He's getting checked out for a possible concussion per Chico.

    Always thought of Smith as a replacement for Bates, never as a wideout his rookie year. He did take his first touch to the house. BMF

    the call on Shockey was pure horseshit, no way that gets called on New England or Green Bay
