Doesn't matter about Peyton's neck. It is all about age here. Newton's elevator is going up. He has 10-15 years left to play. Manning has what 2-3 years left playing at a high level? Elevator going down.

Besides, Panthers are not positioned to win now with or without Manning. By the time the young players mature Manning is out of the league. No way I'd do that trade.

This is the correct answer. Any anybody who says yes to this trade is an IDIOT!

I'd definitely do it. My only concern would not be Peyton's neck injury, but the injuries he'd develop playing behind our O-line.

I'd say trade if we knew he WASN'T coming back. That way Clausen guides us into the first draft pick, we pick A. Luck and have Peyton around for a few years as a tutor.

I see the point about Cam being a lot younger than Peyton but Cam still has a lot to prove to show he is going to be the next great franchise QB. The Cards game was nice but he has to do it consistently. Wienkie once threw for that many yards in a game.....

But, when Weinke did it, his rating for the game was nowhere near 110. Closer to half that.

Before I pulled the trigger on that trade, I'd need a lot more than the opinion of some random doctor who is only familiar with the procedure, not the specific case. No familiarity with specifics leads us to things like Chuck Smith.

Trade for a QB drafted in 1998, with critical nerve damage in his neck? I mean, yea, the idea is neat. But, pass.

Not unless Peyton would swap positions to DT. We have more issues across the DL than QB

Agreed. Seems like a bad move for our future as a team. With that being said if we had the choice between the two in the same draft I would undoubtedly take Manning.
